We all know that candles can be made from beeswax but do you know that there are many uses for beeswax? In addition to wax seals on envelopes, in the days of yor, beeswax has a multitude of purposes still today. These are just a few suggestions:
- BEESWAX FOODWRAPS – With everyone becoming more aware of plastics and its effect on the planet you can make your own wraps.
- WOOD LUBRICATION – Do you have a squeaky drawer of stiff window? Try rubbing the area with beeswax.
- CRAYONS – A fun family project.
- LIP BALM – or other cosmetics use beeswax to solidify the product.
- WATERPROOFING – You can make a balm or simply rub your shoes with beeswax and use a blow dryer to melt it in.
- PREVENT TOOLS FROM RUSTING – Garden tools benefit with a coat of beeswax.
- CONDITIONING CHOPPING BOARDS AND OTHER KITCHEN WOODEN WARE – mixing a ½ tsp of beeswax with 1 cup mineral oil. Apply with a cloth and buff off.
- UNSTICK ZIPPERS – Rub some beeswax on the teeth and it should zip more freely.
